LEDGLE 1.4W Solar Floating Fountain

Worked immediately with sun, well built, great teaching aid for kids….

I was really excited when this solar powered fountain came. I got it because I love fountains and I also wanted to teach my grandkids about the effects of solar power. I took it out of the package and was a little confused about all the pieces that came with it, but came back to the reviews here and someone mentioned things about the “tips” so that helped. I finally just chose the small tube and a “top” and snapped them together. It is a pretty tight fit, you have to push down hard to get the two pieces to snap. I pulled off the protective adhesive layer on top of the pump and pushed the tip into the center. Then I filled a bucket full of water and had my hubby carry it out on to the back desk.

It is super sunny here today so as soon as I stepped out on the back deck, you could hear the motor start on the fountain pump. I put the pump into the water and made this video so you can see how it works. It’s pretty simple – bright sun and the fountain is more constant and higher, normal sun or cloudy, it barely does much at all. Today the sun is so bright and hot, I burned my foot on the metal doorway just taking the fountain outside, so when you watch the video you can see how powerful, or not, this fountain is in full sun.

I am happy that it is going to be super easy to show my grandkids how this fountain works and the power you can get from the sun. The fountain appears to be well made and should last for a while if I am careful to clean out the pump occasionally to keep things working. There are no sharp edges or anything to be concerned about with letting the kids put it in the water and observe it. For my purpose, this is perfect.
